Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about insurance claims, estimates, paint, repair times and our two Georgia shops. Don't see your question? Call either shop.
Insurance claims
Can I choose my own body shop instead of the one my insurance recommends?
Yes. You choose where your vehicle is repaired. Your insurance company may suggest shops, but you can bring your car to Finish Pros in Dallas or Marietta and we will work with your insurer on the claim. #
Which insurance companies do you work with?
We work with all insurance companies. Whether your claim is through your own policy or the other driver's, bring your claim number and we handle the rest with the adjuster. #
I already have an insurance estimate. Can you use it?
Yes. Bring your insurance estimate to either location. We review it against the actual damage and contact your insurer if additional repairs are needed. #
Do I pay my deductible to Finish Pros?
Yes. On an insurance repair you pay your deductible to the shop when you pick up your vehicle, and your insurance company pays the rest of the approved repair cost. #
Can I put my insurance money toward painting the whole car?
Yes. Finish Pros can apply your insurance repair dollars toward an overall paint service, so instead of repairing one panel you can make the entire vehicle look new again. Ask about it when you get your estimate. #
What happens if you find more damage after the repair starts?
We document the hidden damage with photos and submit a supplement to your insurance company for approval before doing the extra work. You are kept informed throughout. #
The accident was not my fault. How does the repair get paid?
When another driver is at fault, their insurance company normally pays for your repairs. Give us their claim number and we work directly with their adjuster. #
Should I file an insurance claim or pay for the repair myself?
Get a free estimate first. If the repair costs less than or close to your deductible, paying out of pocket is often the better choice. We will give you a written estimate so you can decide. #
Do I need to wait for an insurance adjuster before bringing my car in?
No. You can bring your vehicle to Finish Pros right away. We can write the estimate and coordinate with your insurance company on inspection. #
Will my insurance pay for a rental car during repairs?
That depends on your policy or, if another driver was at fault, their policy. We work with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to help you arrange a rental while your vehicle is in the shop. #
Estimates and pricing
Are estimates free?
Yes. Finish Pros gives free written estimates at both our Dallas and Marietta shops, and we will walk you through several options to make your car look new again. #
Do I need an appointment for an estimate?
No. Stop by either location Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, for a free written estimate. You can also call ahead or request an estimate online. #
How long does an estimate take?
Most estimates are written while you wait. Larger collision damage can take longer to inspect thoroughly. #
Can I get an estimate from photos?
You can send photos through our online estimate request to get a rough idea of cost. A final written estimate requires seeing the vehicle in person, because damage behind panels often does not show in photos. #
How much does a full paint job cost?
It depends on the vehicle size, its current condition, and the package you choose. Finish Pros offers several paint service levels to fit different budgets; a free estimate gives you an exact price. #
How much does it cost to fix a scratched or scuffed bumper?
Minor bumper scuffs and scratches are usually one of the most economical repairs we do, and often cost less than an insurance deductible. Stop by for a free estimate to get an exact price. #
What forms of payment do you accept?
Call either shop to confirm accepted payment methods before pickup. #
Will you look at an estimate from another shop?
Yes. Bring it in and we will write our own free estimate so you can compare the work included, not just the price. #
Auto painting
What kind of paint do you use?
Every Finish Pros paint job uses a factory-style basecoat/clearcoat system: a color coat for the exact shade, protected by a clear coat for gloss and durability. We do not offer cheaper single-stage paint shortcuts. #
Can you match my car's factory color?
Yes. We match your vehicle's factory paint code and blend into neighboring panels so the repaired area matches the rest of the car. #
Can you change my car's color?
Yes. Finish Pros offers color changes. Ask during your estimate which areas (door jambs, under the hood, trunk) are included at each package level. #
Do you offer different levels of paint jobs?
Yes. We offer paint services at several quality and price levels so you can choose what fits your budget, and every level uses a basecoat/clearcoat finish. #
My clear coat is peeling. Can it be fixed?
Yes. Peeling or faded clear coat cannot be polished out; the affected panels must be sanded and refinished. We can refinish just the damaged panels or repaint the whole vehicle. #
Can you paint just one panel?
Yes. We refinish single panels such as a door, fender, or hood and blend the color into the surrounding panels so the repair does not show. #
How soon can I wash my car after it is painted?
Your painter will give you care instructions at pickup. As a general rule, avoid automatic car washes and waxing for the first several weeks while the finish fully cures; gentle hand washing is fine. #
Is it worth painting an older car?
Often, yes. A fresh paint job can make a mechanically sound older vehicle look new for far less than a replacement, and it protects the body from rust. We will give you honest options at your free estimate. #
Collision repair
Do you repair all makes and models?
Yes. Finish Pros repairs cars, trucks, and SUVs of all makes and models at both our Dallas and Marietta locations. #
Can you repair frame or structural damage?
Call either shop to discuss structural repairs. Our I-CAR certified technicians will inspect the vehicle and explain the repair plan in your estimate. #
Will anyone be able to tell my car was in an accident?
Our goal is that no one can. We repair to factory specifications, match the factory color, and blend paint into adjacent panels so the repair is invisible. #
What should I do after a car accident?
Make sure everyone is safe, call the police if required, exchange insurance information, and take photos. Then report the claim to your insurer and bring the vehicle to Finish Pros for a free estimate. #
My car is not drivable. What should I do?
Have it towed directly to our Dallas or Marietta shop. Call us and we will help you coordinate the tow and the insurance claim. #
Do you use new factory parts?
Parts depend on your insurance policy and your preference. We explain which parts are being used on your estimate so you know what is going on your car. #
Do you handle cars with safety sensors and cameras?
Yes. Modern bumpers and windshields often hold cameras and sensors. We note these on your estimate so the repair plan accounts for them. #
Are your technicians certified?
Yes. Finish Pros is I-CAR certified. I-CAR is the collision industry's training organization, and certification means our technicians train on current repair methods for today's vehicles. #
Timing and rentals
How long does collision repair take?
It depends on the damage, parts availability, and insurance approval. Minor repairs can take a few days; larger collisions take longer. Your estimate includes an expected completion time, and we update you if it changes. #
How long does a full paint job take?
Timing depends on the package and how much prep the vehicle needs. We give you an expected completion date when you book. #
What are your hours?
Both Finish Pros shops are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. #
Are you open on weekends?
No. Both shops are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Call ahead if you need to arrange a drop-off. #
Can you help me get a rental car?
Yes. Finish Pros works with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to help you arrange a rental while your vehicle is being repaired. #
How will I know when my car is ready?
We contact you when your vehicle is ready and if anything changes the completion date. You can also call your shop anytime for a status update. #
Warranty and quality
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. Finish Pros backs its repairs with a limited lifetime warranty. Ask for the written warranty terms with your estimate. #
What does the limited lifetime warranty cover?
The warranty covers our workmanship on the repairs we perform. Your written warranty lists exactly what is covered and any exclusions; ask your shop for a copy. #
How long has Finish Pros been in business?
Finish Pros has been repairing and painting vehicles for 15 years. We are locally owned and operated, with shops in Dallas and Marietta, Georgia. #
Is Finish Pros a chain?
No. Finish Pros is locally owned and operated, with two shops in Paulding and Cobb counties. #
What if I notice a problem after pickup?
Bring the vehicle back to the shop that did the repair. Covered workmanship issues are handled under our limited lifetime warranty. #
Dents, scratches and wheels
What is paintless dent repair?
Paintless dent repair (PDR) removes dents by working the metal back into shape from behind the panel, with no filler and no repainting. It works when the paint is not cracked or chipped. #
Can you fix hail damage?
Yes. Most hail damage can be repaired with paintless dent repair, which keeps your factory paint. Hail damage is often covered under comprehensive insurance. #
How do I know if my dent needs paint?
If the paint is cracked, chipped, or the dent is on a sharp body line or panel edge, it usually needs conventional repair and paint. Otherwise paintless dent repair may work. A free estimate will tell you which. #
Can you fix a keyed car?
Yes. Deep key scratches through the clear coat need the panel refinished and blended. Light scratches can sometimes be corrected with less work. Bring it in for a free estimate. #
Can you fix small door dings?
Yes. Small door dings are often ideal for paintless dent repair, which is quick and leaves your factory paint untouched. #
Can you fix curb rash on my wheels?
Yes. Finish Pros repairs curb rash and refinishes the wheel so the damage disappears. #
Can you change the color of my wheels?
Yes. We refinish wheels in a new color as well as restoring dull or peeling factory finishes. #
Can a cracked plastic bumper be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Many cracks and tears in plastic bumper covers can be repaired and refinished for less than replacement. We will tell you which option makes sense at your estimate. #
